Just over a decade ago, Renzo Piano designed the hotel that opened in 2018 as the DoubleTree by Hilton Turin Lingotto. The hotel is part of the FIAT factory in the formerly industrial Lingotto district. The rooms are built around an atrium, where meeting space and the restaurant outlets are located and where glass elevator shafts suggests the kind of lift that was used in the old factory days. The lofty design element extends to the rooms that are almost high enough for a giraffe to stand in, with the floor-to-ceiling windows that light-floods every room. Guests have access to the former FIAT rooftop test track, featured in the movie “The Italian Job” and can enjoy stunning views of the Turin hills and the Italian Alps.
